At Joras Ventures, the security and well-being of our job seekers and our clients are paramount. We are committed to providing a safe and trustworthy environment for everyone involved in the recruitment process.
We are writing to inform you about a recent rise in reported scams across the recruitment industry. Malicious individuals are attempting to impersonate recruitment consultants through various channels, including WhatsApp, email, text messages, and even phone calls. These fraudsters aim to deceive unsuspecting individuals and exploit them for personal gain.
We want to assure you that we are taking these fraudulent activities very seriously. We are issuing this alert to enhance your awareness and help you protect yourself. We urge you to exercise caution and refrain from responding to any suspicious communications.
How to Spot a Potential Scam:
Here are some red flags to watch out for:
⦾ Unfamiliar Contact: You receive a message, call, or come across a job advertisement from someone claiming to be a Joras Ventures consultant whom you don't recognize, and they do not have a legitimate Joras Ventures LinkedIn profile, Facebook profile or other verifiable online presence.
⦾ Suspicious Profile: The person contacting you has a suspicious profile image, a lack of detailed or verifiable information, minimal activity, or questionable contact details.
⦾ Unverified Email Domain: Always verify the email address. Legitimate Joras Ventures communications will always originate from the official @jorasventures.com domain. Be wary of emails from generic addresses or domains that don't match our official branding.
⦾ Requests for Personal Information or Fees: Joras Ventures works directly with recruiting agencies in specific countries. We never charge job seekers directly for our services. Any necessary payments are handled with the recruiting agencies. If a payment is required from a job seeker, it will only be for a specific, legitimate purpose related to your application. If this happens, you will only receive an email and invoice from an official Joras Ventures email address. We will never ask you for direct payment of any kind. Be particularly cautious if you are asked to provide sensitive personal details or for payment for visas, work permits, or any other related services.
⦾ Unusual Payment Requests: You are asked to transfer money for any reason, especially if it's from a non-official Joras Ventures email address, or without an invoice. This is a common scam tactic.
⦾ International Offers: Be extra vigilant if you're contacted by individuals based outside of Poland, especially offering work in sectors that may be prone to exploitation (e.g., certain areas of industrial or agricultural sectors).
⦾ Non-English Contracts: Any contracts or important documents that are not written in Polish (or English, if you've agreed to communicate in English) should be viewed with extreme suspicion.
